(also gaillarde in French sources, or Gagliarda in Italian) is an athletic dance style consisting of sequences of steps which occupy one or more 6-beat measures of music. The most basic sequence, consisting of four kicks and a cadence is known as a cinq pas in French (cinque passi in Italian, and occasionally sinkapace in English sources). Other sequences may be 11, or even 17 steps long.

The lavolta and tassel-kick (salti del fiocco) are specific variations on a Galliard.
